“Aathva Sur” (Eighth Sur), a rare book of ghazals depicting the ghazalist form of composer Naushad. This compilation of Naushad is very rare, quite destroyed.
Dr. Kanhaiyalal Rajpurohit, noted writer and author of Jodhpur, was trying to trace this book but was unable to get one.

His admirer, historian and researcher, Jagdish Purohit of IndiaPress Mumbai took up the task. Finally it was found by composer Manohar Ayer with the help of Deepak Acharya and a copy of the same was dedicated today at Jodhpur.

He was accompanied by literature lovers PushpLata Rajpurohit, Gopal Singh Rajpurohit Khichun, Bhanwar Jangid and Yogeshsingh Rajpurohit Talakia.

संगीतकार नौशाद का गजलकार रूप दर्शाती दुर्लभ पुस्तक “आठवां सुर” जिसमें नौशाद द्वारा लिखे गजलों का संकलन है। नौशाद का यह संकलन बहुत विरला है, काफी नष्ट हो चुका। यह पुस्तक जोधपुर के साहित्यकार व लेखक डॉ. कन्हैयालाल राजपुरोहित को कहीं नही मिली, उन्हें इसकी बेहद तलब थी। तो उनके प्रशंसक व‌ इंडिया प्रेस मुम्बई के जगदीश पुरोहित ने खोजबीन की। आखिर में संगीतकार मनोहर अयर के पास यह मिली। उन्होंने भी खुद इसकी कॉपी करवा कर दी। यह कॉपी आज पुरोहित जोधपुर में सम्मान से समर्पित करने आए तो वे भावुक हो गए। उनके साथ साहित्य प्रेमी गोपालसिंह‌ खींचुन और राजपुरोहित इंडिया के योगेशसिंह तालकिया भी थे।
